A rousing feast for the senses

The Acros Trio performed Spanish and Latin American Music at the Sudhaus, Scholss Seefeld. The Acros Trio [...] is however not restricted to the ordinary boundaries of chamber music aesthetic. [...] Their performance ranged from impetuous rumbling, over salon dancing romances through to sweet melancholy.

One has probably never experienced in this hall such sound waves within a classical music performance [...]. Storytelling tangos [...] were arranged for the Trio into a three-movement form: with a lyrical chromatically coloured 'Cancian al árbol del Olvido’, undulating emotional extremes in 'Cafetín de Buenos Aires' and with a fiery and powerfully substantive 'La vi llegar' to end.

The more sensitive and subtle tonal nuances of the Trio came within the Spanish works. In the fantasy 'Circulo’ Op.91 by Joaquin Turina, one is suggested the narrative of a daily routine - from waking up, to midday high spirits and then finishing with an ambient romantic evening. The 'Canciones populares espanolas' by Manuel de Falla were delightful miniatures each featuring strong characters which resulted in a definitive work. It was a feast for the senses, which the audience enthusiastically received and ended with a Tango encore.

Classic and catchy musical fireworks

[...] And directly caught fire with the "Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas" by Piazzolla – by a fireworks display which plucked and hammered, pushing into wild syncopated rhythms in which the audience were literally revved, but in between melodic, interspersed lyrical pauses were allowed – until the sudden return to the “start up” [...] The composition "Pajarillo con vibrato" by Alejandro Loguercio, ended the evening. Finally, they built the sound of the three instruments into such a large orchestra that lived and shook, crescendos and decrescendi took turns in quick succession, and the crashing conclusion almost yanked the receivers from their chairs. Each of these three young, cheerful and sympathetic artists have mastered their instruments in not only an optimal way, but in a way to enchant their audiences with such a mature, dedicated musicianship that no one shall forget this concert quickly.

DIVERSITY

exuberant tango and classical music: The debut CD of trios Acros

[...] The works which are not widely known in Europe have little distinction in mind between classical and popular music boundaries. They are demanding, emotional and have folkloric origins - the second work by the ensemble features the addition of a Cuatro (a four-stringed guitar coming from the north of South America) illustrates this. Though many of the works are arrangements for the Trio, this plays a small role. What is crucial is the interpretation, and the results speak for themselves: a thrilling CD of exuberant variety, colour and depth of experiences. The "Cuatro estaciones Porteñas" by Astor Piazzolla is designed for a larger ensemble, but the passionate approach of Acros trio lacks of nothing in substance. [...]

And Alejandro Loguercio, the violinist of the Acros Trio, uses the folk music of his native Venezuela to create a worldly coloured synthesis of classical and jazz music for the CD in "Pajarilo con vibrato”. The best-known composers of the CD, in addition to Piazzolla, are two Spaniards: Manuel de Falla and Joaquin Turina. From Turina comes the only original works for piano trio ("Circulo", op.91). A piece with which the trio Acros clearly exposes his high qualities.
